Busy working families look to find a trustworthy moving company for their aging parents in whom they have confidence. And the relationship goes both ways as the senior move manager seeks to build a mutually pleasant association since the family may call for their services multiple times.

The Ted Burnett family is an example. “Since the first phone call and the first move,” says Carol Burnett, “Home to Home has been extremely pleasant to work with and so accommodating. Why not call them again, which we did… seven times, creating a lasting, trusting relationship with our family.”

Home to Home moved Beatrice Hux to a Salisbury assisted living community to be near her husband, Charles.

It began when Dr. Ted and Carol Burnett had to move Carol’s mother, Beatrice Hux, from an independent living community after a lengthy stay in the hospital. It became more complicated when her mother had to move two additional times to different assisted living communities to accommodate her changing needs.

Carol’s father, Charles Hux, had been in a VA hospital in Salisbury since 2009. Now Dr. Burnett had a job relocation to Charlotte, the Burnetts needed to move from Greensboro where they had lived since 1974, Home to Home was called again.

“We did a partial move of Ted’s belongings so he could go to work while I stayed in Greensboro to prepare for the complete move to our new Charlotte home,” Carol says.

Meanwhile, the Burnetts were downsized a little, so, “Again we called Home to Home who moved some things to my daughter’s home in Greensboro and to my son who lives in Charlotte.”

When time for the big move came, “I found Home to Home to be more than reasonable and beyond accommodating. They loaded the day before the move so I could go on to Charlotte to prepare for their arrival. I developed a rapport with the employees because they were the same ones that had come back time and again, so each time we picked up where we had left off. The guys worked so hard, they took their time to be sure the furniture was properly wrapped and that the walls and floors were not damaged. They tweaked and rearranged things here and there, making it so much easier for me.”

As Beatrice’s health improved, “Again we called Home to Home who worked us into its schedule to move my mother to Salisbury to be closer to my father.” Finally, Carol concluded, “I’m very happy with their services or I wouldn’t have called them back the seventh time.”

An additional bonus: “Home to Home also offers Frequent Customer Discounts. My son and daughter will call them one day because they are always there for us when we need them.”
