Need a primary care physician, orthopedic surgeon, gastroenterologist or cardiologist? What about a relaxing massage, nutrition consultation, laser skin treatment or physical therapy? Or a state-of-the-art fitness center where you can take yoga, swim or participate in a cycling class? Or have a prescription filled or grab a healthy lunch in between appointments?
At one time you might have had to go to multiple locations, but five years ago that all changed.
American Institute of Healthcare & Fitness (AIHF) offers a unique healthcare environment that combines traditional and complementary care in a relaxing North Raleigh location. Nestled among trees and conveniently located between Lead Mine and Six Forks Roads, this one-of-a-kind facility has attracted a unique grouping of providers who are focused on total health and well being. The concept has united medical care, nutrition, wellness, exercise and counseling in an outpatient environment to appeal to adults of all ages. The building was carefully designed for easy access, providing six entrances and parking at each entry for optimal accessibility.
One example is Steve Adkins, a pharmacist at Health Park Pharmacy in Suite 227 at 8300 Health Park Road. “For over 10 years, I have provided one-on-one advice to my patients to improve their health,” he says. “I do this by working with their doctors to provide the best plan for each individual”.
As a 16 year-old working in his hometown pharmacy in Danville, VA, he felt the impact the pharmaceutical business had on his community. “Our patients and their doctors trusted us to work together to improve their lives. As a result of this experience, my goal as a pharmacist is to educate patients to improve their health.”
In a building like AIHF, Steve is able to provide his patients with a level of service and care unmatched by any of his competitors. “If I need clarification on an order, or just need to make a change to save a patient money, I can send a text message directly to the patient’s provider. Within minutes I have a response. In other practices, this simple request can take up to ten business days. This lag delays patient care and in some situations can be detrimental to the patient.”
Even AIHF’s design offers a destination and a concept that encourages collaboration for the benefit of patient as well as family convenience. It’s a one-stop approach to healthcare that has built-in conveniences not found anywhere else in the Triangle. Patients can see their primary care physician, stop by for a workout, get a massage and pick up a prescription all in one location.
The AIHC providers offer a variety of traditional and complementary healthcare services, all under one roof at 8300 Health Park in Raleigh.
