SearStone - Kevin Johnson

SearStone, a distinctly different continuing care retirement community in Cary, is celebrating the national award, won by Kevin Johnson for his expertise as Searstone’s Food Service Director. The award for “Enhancing Resident Experience” in dining was given by Sodexo Global at a national awards banquet for dining services.

Johnson, who joined the SearStone food service staff in early 2014, has developed a comprehensive dining program for the residents and guests of the community. While overseeing all dining operations, he has devoted extra time to meet with residents to determine food preferences. For special events, he also created tableside desserts, such as Bananas Foster, for extra dining pleasure.

“I was born and raised in New Orleans,” says Johnson. “That region really does provide the best cuisine in America, and I love to share that food with people.” At the national awards banquet, Johnson was recognized for best demonstrating Sodexo’s motto, “Residents are the heart of everything we do,” by providing personalized service to all residents, families and staff.

“We are very proud of Kevin and all that he has accomplished at SearStone,” says Chris Romick, executive director of SearStone. “Being the food and beverage director at a community like ours can be a difficult job, but the residents and staff are very impressed with Kevin’s food service.”
