After the completion and sellout of twenty-two new garden homes in 2017, Twin Lakes Community located in Elon and Burlington, is constructing twenty-eight new homes in the last – and again sellout – phase of their garden home development on their 220-acre campus. With the addition of these homes, Twin Lakes includes 434 residences in independent living, in addition to assisted-living, skilled nursing and memory care residences, making it one of the largest CCRCs (Continuing Care Retirement Community) in the state. The diverse population of people at Twin Lakes come from across the country to live, learn, and grow at a place where community comes first.

The $15 million construction project will be built in three phases with the first phase scheduled to open in May of this year, and subsequent phases opening in the summer and fall. The garden homes are freestanding three- bedroom, two or two-and-a-half bath homes with an attached garage, attic and terrace, as well as optional Carolina room and screened porch.  This phase of development offers four open-floor plan options ranging in size from 1780 square feet to 2400 square feet. All new homes have been sold. Teague, Freyaldenhoven & Freyaldenhoven Architects and Planners Inc., of Greensboro is the architect for this project. Weaver Cooke of Greensboro is the general contractor.

Twin Lakes recently completed the construction of a new maintenance complex that houses maintenance, grounds, and environmental services staff and equipment. In addition to the garden home development, Twin Lakes is currently building a new $55 million skilled nursing facility, as well as additions and renovations to their fitness and community centers. Proposed future development calls for a new 65 unit apartment complex offering garages and spacious, open-floor plan options.
