You are never too old to start being active, according to Tina Boston.
“I became very active at the age of
50 when I found Senior Games,” the High Point native says.

When she ran her first race in 2003, she won gold in both the 100 Meter
and the 200 Meter. Since that time,
she has gone on to earn many more gold medals. She has set Senior Games records for track in North Carolina, Maryland, and the Huntsman World Senior Games.

Tina began participating in Senior Games in Maryland 17 years ago after retiring from a successful career in banking. When she moved to North Carolina, she started participating and volunteering in Greater High Point Senior Games and State Finals. She was such a valued volunteer that the High Point Senior Center hired her to run its Local Games, creating a part time position for her.

In addition to being a Local Coordinator and active Senior Games Ambassador, Tina participates in track, pickleball, softball, and basketball tournaments, as well as cornhole, shuffleboard, and basketball shooting.

When asked what she likes about Senior Games, she had a quick response. “What don’t I like? I love the fellowship, the people, the fun I have, the health and fitness part of it, and I love the competition. I feel like I will live longer because of Senior Games. It’s a feel-good program.”

Seniors are invited to join Tina in participating or volunteering!
