The Community Garden at Salemtowne brings together residents in a united cause. Resident and pro-gardener Larry Lovvorn says, “Getting fresh produce is good. Plus working with the soil is recuperative. As you can see, flowers are important for our butterflies. We have the Monarch butterfly spot here. We track these butterflies all over the eastern hemisphere. It gets us out and gets us thinking about different things.”

Salemtowne sits on 120 acres and offers gardens, a small lake for fishing, and 3 miles of trails for its residents to enjoy the beautiful outdoors throughout the year. Neighbors get to know each other while working together in the Community Garden or while tracking Monarch Butterflies.
